Part Two, which begins with Chapter 10, contains the proverbs proper. As already noted, the proverbs are, perhaps, better described as parables or parallels – deceptively simple sayings that hold more meaning than is immediately obvious on the surface, having facets and depths of meaning that make them equally valuable to young and old alike, to the inexperienced and to those already accounted wise.

In this part, when verses have been combined into longer paragraphs, the numbers shown are those of the Bible verses that commence those sections. For the sake of clarity, all other verse numbers have been omitted.
